Trips to Puerto Maldonado. A special adventure. You can expect an exciting adventure with stunning flora and fauna of the rainforest.
Day 1: Arrival in Cusco
Our local team will be waiting to welcome you at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will visit the city of Cusco. We will take a guided tour of the city, visiting the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, and the Temple of the Sun, or Koricancha.
Day 2: Travel to Puerto Maldonado
After breakfast, we will fly to Puerto Maldonado. Depending on our arrival time, we will visit the center of Puerto Maldonado and the city's viewpoint.
Day 3: The Jungle
After breakfast, we will travel by boat to the jungle. During our hike through the rainforest, we will see many animals and large trees. After a boat ride on the lagoon, we will arrive at our lodge. Free time to rest and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will search for the inhabitants of the lagoon, and at dusk, we will have the opportunity to see caimans.
Dinner at the lodge.
Day 4: The Jungle
Today we will wake up very early to see parrots and monkeys. After the hike, we have breakfast at the lodge. Later, we can see otters, monkeys, and colorful birds. Lunch. In the afternoon, we learn about medicinal plants of the rainforest and hike through the dense jungle. After dinner, we take a walk to see the animals that come out at night.
Day 5: The Rainforest
After breakfast, we go to the other side of the lagoon to see the largest trees in the rainforest. On our hike, we can climb on the large roots of the giant trees or swing on vines. Our guide tells us about the unique characteristics of the plants and trees of the rainforest.
After lunch, we go to Puerto Maldonado. In the afternoon, we arrive at the hotel and have dinner.
Day 6: Cusco
Breakfast. Flight to Cusco.
Optional two-day jungle excursion.

Meals include omelets, soups, fresh fruit, avocado, pasta, meat, and rice—all rich in carbohydrates necessary to compensate for the physical exertion of the trek. Hot beverages are also provided, including coca tea, which is excellent for altitude sickness.
