Climbing Ampato:
The ascent is made via the south face of the snow-capped mountain, starting from the village of Cabanaconde, near the edge of the Colca Canyon.
Day 1: AREQUIPA - AMPATO BASE CAMP
Passenger pick-up at 7:30 a.m. Arrival at the Patapampa Pass at 4,850 meters above sea level. Impressive view of the Southern Andes Volcanic Range. We continue to the Sallali annex, reaching 5,100 meters above sea level after a 6-hour drive. Light lunch before the hike to Camp I or II, depending on time and physical condition. Arrival at the campsite at approximately 5,300 meters above sea level. Setup. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 2: AMPATO BASE CAMP - SUMMIT - AREQUIPA
Early breakfast. Start of the hike with headlamps, reaching the summit before noon. Beautiful view of the Colca Canyon and the Ampato and Chila mountain ranges. Return to Base Camp where transportation will be ready for the descent. Arrival in Arequipa in the evening.

IMPORTANT NOTE
- The Lead Guide will coordinate with the Assistant Guide and/or porters the descent of any passenger who decides to return to Base Camp due to fatigue or other reasons, so that they do not hike alone on the mountain. Clients will carry all their personal equipment on the day of the ascent, such as warm clothing, crampons, ice axes, water, sunglasses, etc. - On the first day, the porters will only carry the tents, water, and food. Clients will carry all their personal equipment, such as sleeping bags, etc.
- If any member of the group (client) decides to descend to Arequipa before the start of the main program, they will be responsible for all associated costs, including transportation, food, and lodging.
- Changes to the itinerary due to weather, physical, mental, or technical conditions will not be the responsibility of the organizers. (D.S. 028-2004 Mountain Guide Regulations)
- Personal equipment such as warm clothing, sunglasses, backpacks, trekking poles, boots, crampons, etc., are not included in the service.
