Day 1 Arequipa Colca Canyon

We depart in our private transport from Arequipa, visiting the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where we can observe the biodiversity. We continue our journey to Chivay, where our buffet lunch awaits us. After visiting Chivay, we continue to Cabanaconde, where we will spend the night.

 

Day 2 Colca Canyon Cruz del Cóndor Ascent to Bomboya

Today we will visit the famous Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to appreciate its majestic flight. Afterward, we transfer to the town of Madrigal. Here, our muleteer and his mule will be waiting to begin our adventure. We will ascend from 3,600 m to 4,500 m, where we will spend the night at our campsite.

 

Day 3 First Camp at Bomboya and Descent into the Queñua Forest

After a good breakfast, we will ascend Bomboya Hill at 5,245 m. Here we will continue, always accompanied by our guide and muleteer, until we reach a point called Cejana. A 3-hour descent will take us to the Queñuales Forest, where we will spend the night.

 

Day 4: Queñuales Forest – Tapay – Oasis

After a pleasant descent, we arrive at the Oasis, located at 2,000 meters, where we can relax and enjoy the pool and its 30-degree climate. Our room with a private bathroom awaits us here.

 

Day 5: Sangalle - Cabanaconde - Chivay - Arequipa

This day we will wake up very early, at 4:00 a.m., to begin the ascent to the town of Cabanaconde, which takes approximately 4 hours. At the beginning, we'll need the light from our flashlights, but as the morning progresses, the dawn light will illuminate the path. Once in the town of Cabanaconde, we'll have breakfast and then board our transport, which will take us to the town of Chivay. There, we'll have the option to visit the La Calera thermal baths (40°C) and have lunch before beginning our return to the city of Arequipa.
